AI & Automation
Where AI automation pays off first in a small business
Start with work that is repetitive, rules-based and annoying. Skip anything that needs real judgement until the basics run themselves.

It is tempting to point AI at the biggest, most strategic problem in the company. In practice the first wins come from small, dull tasks that happen dozens of times a week.
A simple filter
Good candidates share three traits: the task repeats often, the steps are mostly predictable, and a mistake is cheap to catch and fix. If all three are true, automate it.
- Sorting and replying to common inbound enquiries.
- Logging leads into your CRM with the right fields filled in.
- Drafting first versions of recurring reports and updates.
- Following up with people who went quiet after a quote.
Keep a human in the loop
Automation should remove the typing, not the thinking. Let the system prepare and propose, and keep a person responsible for anything that reaches a customer or changes money.
Automate the task, not the accountability.
Measure it
Before you build, note how long the task takes today. After a few weeks, compare. If the saving is not obvious, change the workflow or stop. Not every process is worth automating.
