Design systems for small teams: start small
You do not need a huge library. A few shared decisions save hours on every page.

A design system sounds like a big-company project. For a small team, it can be a single page of decisions that everyone follows.
The minimum worth having
- A small colour palette with named roles, not just hex codes.
- A type scale with a few sizes and weights.
- A spacing scale so layouts feel consistent.
- A handful of reusable components: button, input, card, section.
Add to it only when you build the same thing twice. A system that grows from real use stays useful, and one built in advance rarely does.
