Choosing a CMS: how to pick without regrets
The best CMS is the one your team will actually use. Start from who edits the content.

People compare CMS options on features. A better starting point is who will edit the site, how often, and how comfortable they are with technical tools.
Questions to ask
- Who publishes content, and do they need approval steps?
- Do you need many page types, or mostly blog posts and a few pages?
- Will the same content appear on a site and an app?
- What happens to your content if you leave the platform?
- What does it cost at the size you expect in two years?
A traditional CMS suits teams who want everything in one place. A headless CMS suits teams who want a custom front end and structured content. For small sites, simple files or a lightweight editor are often enough.
